studio guidelines & policies
Still Life Studios is a resource for sustaining community. We offer work and meeting space, and access to special events and creative opportunities.
Visitors should only register for or participate in our offerings after reviewing the information outlined below.
Your input is welcome on how we can improve these guidelines in future iterations. Contact us here if you have feedback, questions, concerns.
our values
Together with our members and visitors, we maintain a respectful, safe, and environmentally-focused space.
We treat each other and our space with respect. Harassment and discrimination are not tolerated.
We value reuse and repair whenever possible.
We’re mindful of the resources we use and the waste we create.
We thoughtfully dispose of unwanted items.
tools and resources
Many tools and supplies are available for free for in-studio use:
We agree to handle and store tools and supplies with care and responsibility, so we and others can use them without harm.
We consider our impact on the collective, and use a reasonable amount of resources so each person gets enough.
We tidy up after ourselves at the end of each session, which includes properly saving/storing and discarding of items.
discarding items
Limiting waste is an important practice we maintain in the studio.
Before discarding items, we determine whether supplies can be kept and stored for future use or donated to others.
We follow trash, recycling, and compost recommendations laid out by the city of Cambridge.
What we recycle (but we often reuse these items, too!):
Metal cans and foil / Glass bottles and jars / Plastic containers / Paper and cardboard
Textile waste is recycled separately
What we compost:
food scraps / tea bags / coffee grounds / discarded cut flowers / napkins & paper towels / compostable paper products
workshops, classes, and events
